In short: we collect only what we need to answer your enquiry and to deliver work you have engaged us for. We do not sell personal data, and we do not run advertising trackers on this website.

01 Who we are

This website is operated by Sknar IT Servis SIA, a limited liability company registered in the Commercial Register of the Republic of Latvia under registration number 40203773293, with its legal and postal address at Salamandras iela 2, Rīga, LV-1024, Latvia.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the “GDPR”), Sknar IT Servis SIA is the data controller for personal data processed through this website and in the course of our client relationships.

02 What this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit this website, send us an enquiry, correspond with us, or engage us to deliver one of our services. It does not cover third-party websites we link to, or the products we build for clients — once a project is handed over, the client operates that product and acts as controller for the data it processes.

03 Personal data we collect

Data you give us

Enquiry details — your name, company name, email address, phone number, the package you are interested in and the project description you write in the form or in an email.
Correspondence — the content of emails, messages and call notes exchanged while scoping or delivering a project.
Contract and billing data — company details, registration and tax identifiers, addresses, bank details and invoice records, where you become a client.

Data collected automatically

Technical data — IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, referring page, and the pages you view. This is generated by the hosting infrastructure in ordinary server logs.
Cookie data — described in section 05 and in our Cookies Policy.

We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data (such as health, biometric or political data), and you should not include such data in an enquiry.

04 Why we process it, and on what legal basis

To answer your enquiry and prepare a quote — legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).
To deliver a project you have engaged us for — legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
To issue invoices and keep accounting records — legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation under Latvian accounting and tax law (Art. 6(1)(c)).
To keep this website secure and operational — legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and diagnosing faults (Art. 6(1)(f)).
To establish, exercise or defend legal claims — legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Non-essential cookies, if and when introduced — legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.

05 Cookies and similar technologies

This website uses only cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary for it to function, or that remember a preference you have set. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. 06 Who we share personal data with

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising purposes. We share it only with:

Service providers acting on our instructions — for example hosting and infrastructure providers, email providers and accounting software, each bound by a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.
Professional advisers — accountants, auditors or lawyers, where necessary and under a duty of confidentiality.
Public authorities — where we are legally required to disclose data, and only to the extent required.

07 International transfers

We prefer providers that store data within the European Economic Area. Where a provider processes data outside the EEA — for example a cloud platform with regions elsewhere — that transfer takes place under an adequacy decision of the European Commission or under Standard Contractual Clauses together with any additional safeguards required. You can ask us which providers are involved in a given project and where the data sits.

08 How long we keep data

Enquiries that do not become projects — kept for up to 12 months from the last message, then deleted.
Client project records and correspondence — kept for the duration of the engagement and for up to 3 years afterwards, in line with the general limitation period for contractual claims.
Accounting and invoice records — kept for the period required by Latvian accounting law, which is generally 5 years.
Server logs — kept for a short technical period, typically not more than 12 months.

When a retention period ends, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

09 Your rights

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed;
have your data erased where there is no longer a lawful reason to keep it;
restrict processing while a dispute about accuracy or lawfulness is resolved;
receive data you provided to us in a structured, machine-readable format and have it transmitted to another controller;
object to processing based on our legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation;
withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent — without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@sknar-it.lv. We respond within one month, and will tell you if we need to extend that period. There is no fee unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Latvian supervisory authority, the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija), or with the supervisory authority in the EU country where you live or work.

10 Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access control on a need-to-know basis, separation of development and production environments, secrets kept out of source code, and regular updates of the components we use. No system is perfectly secure, but we design so that a single failure does not expose everything.

11 Children

This website and our services are directed at businesses, not at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, our providers, or the law. The date at the top of the page always shows when it was last revised. Where a change materially affects how we process your data, we will make that clear rather than relying on you to spot the difference.
